WHO ARE WE AND WHAT WE DO
We are multiple stock car racing teams that have come together to help organizations raise funds for children with severe illnesses and their families in need. In the past, our team has raised funds and awareness for the Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation, IWK Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and The Children's Wish Foundation. For 2020, we will be raising funds and awareness for the Children Wish Foundation of New Brunswick yet again, in addition to helping a few other charitable groups in our community. If you would like to add your favourite charity to this group then please do not hesitate to contact us now!!
On our off track time, our team of volunteers will bring games and cars out for display and let children of all ages sit inside and get buckled in!! We also have lots of prizes to give away including posters, decals and whatever our sponsors are willing to have us give away ie. pens, air fresheners, calendars or magnets.
Over the period of 6 years, our team of volunteers have raised or assisted in raising $197,200 with the help of sponsors, fans and volunteers!!
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
We take great pride in having the opportunity to help non-profit organizations raise funds for such great causes but most importantly, The reactions that we get from the children that are fighting for their life or have had a great battle and their families that have just had a little bit of weight lifted off of their shoulders because their child had a day where they could just forget about all the hospital stuff and got to be a kid for a day.
Let us also tell you about the little kids, and big kids too, that react when we tell them at a car show, or a fundraiser, that they can sit in a real racecar. Their eyes light up like they just got their first puppy or favourite toy. Or how greatfull our sponsors are when we continue to visit them throughout the season and tell them how the fundraisers are doing, and how great full we feel when our sponsors and community are always willing to lend a helping hand.
And last but certainly not the least, for those who don't know, during the first fundraiser at Sears Home, Mike Weagle's daughter was battling Stage 4 Neuroblastoma Cancer and was given a 45% chance of survival. She was only 14 months old when diagnosed with cancer and had a very long and intensive struggle through chemotherapy, radiation, multiple surgery's and visits to the IWK in Halifax and Sick Kids in Toronto. In the end, little Jayden successfully pulled through and is now 34 months in remission with not a trace of cancer since. She is happy and healthy and full of energy.
In addition, as a team, we feel that what we do benefits not only the charitable organizations and children battling cancer, but also our sponsors, the sport of stock car racing and ourselves with a proud feeling of being able to be part of something so important in our community. We are also strong believers in giving our sponsors the exposure they deserve by offering exceptional pricing for advertising on our fundraiser car, #10 stock car, our 33 foot enclosed car trailer, Facebook page website and onsite sponsor exposure days.
For these reasons, amungst some others, we have decided to continue raising funds and awareness for children battling serious illness. So without a doubt, our team really takes to heart what we do and love helping children and their families in need.
